About Us

Who Are We?

Bay Area Equestrian Center (BAEC), is a full service equestrian facility, riding academy, and national caliber Arabian show resource. We are conveniently located on 14 acres in Pearland, Texas where we have been a vital part of the Greater Houston equestrian community since 1995. Many of our students go on to compete in show programs, earning scholarships and other numerous awards.

Why We Do What We Do

We’ve observed an overarching trend over almost three decades of training thousands of young people to ride and interact with horses…they almost always go on to become responsible and productive adults. Horses teach us empathy, compassion, sensitivity, responsibility, discipline, the value of hard work, and the thrill of mastery, not only of equestrian skills, but of one’s life.

Our facility promotes a healthy, drug-free, active and athletic lifestyle that gives young people something solid to anchor their lives to. Drifting is common during teen years as young people search for self-identity and meaning in life. Horses give their spirits wings to fly across the countryside, but horses also ground them to reality as they dismount to the dirt, untack the horse, hose him down if he’s hot, and pick out his hooves.

All Levels of Riders Welcome

Whether you are interested in our riding academy, horse camp,

competitive show program or equine services; we welcome all ages and rider skill levels to learn more about our facility and what BAEC has to offer you.

20,000 Square Foot Arena

Our spacious arena features a well lighted space that enables our instructors to teach the full range of riding skills. Seating is provided for guests and family to watch the lessons. Large overhead fans ensure comfort during the summer season.

More Than 10 Acres of

Outdoor Riding Area

There’s nothing like the thrill of riding horseback in the wide open spaces. Our outdoor area features large fenced areas, round pens, and lunging areas.

70 Horse Stable

BAEC stables house our numerous teaching horses as well as dozens of boarding guests. Partial and full boarding services are provided, including feeding and exercising the horses.

Facilities for Teaching Care and Handling of Horses

As important as learning how to ride, our students also learn how to tack, groom and even cool the horse down after a hot summer ride..
